Your donation helps support the Beat the Funk mission of bringing people together through music, movement, wellness, and community impact to improve lives and create meaningful local change.
Our Vision & Why Donate
To make Peoria the Funk Capital of the Midwest, where people of all ages come together every October to celebrate life, laughter, and unity through music, dance, and joy — inspiring a movement that uplifts spirits and strengthens community year-round.

Why donate? Beat the Funk is an event series designed to help people break out of routine, stress, and creative or emotional ruts through music, movement, and shared energy. It’s about creating a space where people can reset, reconnect, and leave feeling lighter, more inspired, and more alive than when they arrived.

Whether the “funk” is mental, emotional, or physical, the event focuses on release, expression, and momentum—using rhythm, atmosphere, and community to spark a shift.

Your contribution helps fund community events, wellness initiatives, outreach programs, accessibility efforts, and impactful experiences that bring people together through music, movement, and support. Every donation—large or small—helps create meaningful local impact and allows us to continue growing programs that inspire connection, momentum, and positive change in the community.
Sponsorships:
Beat the Funk directly supports the Glen and Polly Barton Clinic for Fitness and Function, a pro bono clinic housed within Bradley University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
The Barton Clinic provides no-cost physical therapy and wellness services to individuals in Central Illinois living with chronic neurological conditions who are uninsured or underinsured.
Funds raised through Beat the Funk help expand access to care, support adaptive and neurological programming, assist caregivers, and ensure that financial barriers never prevent someone from receiving the therapy they need to move, function, and live with dignity.
